Behind the Seams: How Pro Shops Stay Stocked with Style

Posted by Molly Rose Nice on

When you walk into a beautifully curated pro shop and see a rail of fresh, seasonal golf apparel—just your size, just your style—it’s easy to assume it all just… appeared. But behind those sleek displays lies a timeline of preparation, prediction and precision that starts years before you ever swing a club in that skort or quarter zip.

At FAMARA, we know this first-hand. Selling into the most prestigious golf clubs across the US, our journey begins long before the garments ever hit the shop floor. Every January and April, buyers from elite golf clubs fly into the major US trade shows. They’re not shopping for next week, next month or even next season. In January, they're choosing pieces for Fall of that same year and in April they're already planning for Spring of the following year.

This means that our design, production and sample process begins 18–24 months in advance. We're working on prints, silhouettes, fabric innovation and seasonal colour palettes for collections that won't arrive in shops for nearly two years. That’s two years of creative thinking, forecasting trends, sourcing fabric, prototyping styles, creating samples and refining everything down to the last detail.

Why? So that when club members step into their favourite pro shop, it feels fresh, thoughtful and timely. That rail of new arrivals isn’t just new—it’s the product of strategic planning, global collaboration and a lot of coffee-fuelled meetings.

So next time you find your perfect piece in the pro shop, know that a team of people started working on that moment long before the season began—so that you could feel ready to play, look great doing it and walk out with something truly special.
